Scottsdale Mint has become one of the most recognisable privately owned precious-metals manufacturers in the United States, producing gold and silver bullion for customers around the world.

Its reputation has been built on a combination of precision manufacturing, distinctive design and a willingness to rethink what a traditional bullion product can be.

From investment-grade gold and silver to its renowned interlocking Stackers, Scottsdale produces precious metals that are designed to be recognised as much for the finished product as for the metal itself.

Scottsdale Mint was founded in 2008 by Josh Phair and remains a privately owned American precious-metals manufacturer.

The company developed from a small bullion retailer into a manufacturer, designer and distributor of precious metals.

Today, Scottsdale operates a 70,000+ square-foot flagship facility in Casper, Wyoming. Its manufacturing operations include melting and casting, surface finishing, die production, coining, vaulting and packaging, giving the company substantial control over how its products are produced from start to finish. The operation is also ISO 9001:2015 certified.

Scottsdale's manufacturing reach extends beyond the bullion carrying its own Lion hallmark.

The company produces precious-metal products for private banks, bullion dealers, corporations and government clients. It also manufactures official legal-tender coinage for more than 20 sovereign nations and their banking authorities.

Scottsdale is therefore more than a bullion brand. It is an established precious-metals manufacturer producing for retail, institutional and sovereign clients.

Most investment bullion begins with the same fundamentals: precious-metal content, weight and purity.

Scottsdale's point of difference is what it builds around those fundamentals.

Across its range, the mint uses precision engineering, distinctive finishes and the Scottsdale Lion to create products that are immediately recognisable.

The clearest example is the Scottsdale Stacker.

The Scottsdale Stacker® is one of the products most closely associated with the mint.

Made from .999 fine silver, Stackers use precision-engineered raised and recessed surfaces that allow matching pieces to interlock securely. Rather than conventional bars simply resting on top of one another, the Stacker design creates an organised and space-efficient way to store physical silver.

It is a practical feature, but it has also created one of Scottsdale's most recognisable bullion designs.

Scottsdale produces the Stacker format across several weights and forms, including silver rounds and larger bars. The Scottsdale Lion, weight and purity form part of the finished design, giving the range a consistent identity across different products.

is a strong example of the concept: substantial .999 fine silver bullion presented in a format that is practical to stack, visually distinctive and immediately associated with its manufacturer.

The Stacker does not change the fundamental reason for owning silver. It improves the physical product that contains it.

Scottsdale's range also demonstrates how differently the same precious metal can be presented.

moves away from the clean precision of the Stacker and draws on the history of Tombstone, Arizona a frontier town that boomed during the late-19th-century silver rush.

Rich silver discoveries transformed Tombstone from a remote settlement into one of the best-known mining towns of the American West. Its history later became tied to figures such as Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday and the famous events surrounding the O.K. Corral.

Scottsdale's Tombstone bars are designed as a tribute to that mining heritage. Their irregular, rugged finish is intended to evoke the raw silver forms and hand-poured bullion associated with the frontier era, while still containing .999 fine silver.

Together, products such as the Stacker and Tombstone show two very different sides of Scottsdale Mint — one precision-engineered and modern, the other deliberately rough and rooted in America's silver-mining history.
